Effective 1-March 2019, Xcel Energy upgraded the rebates it offers to include LED bulbs.
According to the U.S. Dept of Energy, LEDs have the potential to cut general lighting energy use in half by 2030, saving carbon emissions and energy costs.
U.S. manufactured LED bulbs and/or fixtures offer up to 50,000 hours of power. That’s 2,083 days or 5.7 years. They are less prone to breaking than traditional incandescent bulbs and LEDs contain no mercury.
Rebates are available to homeowner and commercial building owners too including LED lightbulbs and fixtures used to light parking garages and outdoor parking lots.
The LEDs need to be within 10% plus or minus of the lowest and highest wattages to qualify for the rebate. To determine of your LED fixtures or bulbs qualify for a rebate, and to apply go to https://www.xcelenergy.com/programs_and_rebates.
